Flash Introductions

 

Flash Intro pages and flash elements are one of the most requested items in webpages today. Flash pages, as captivating as they may be, can put you at a slight disadvantage with certain search engines, however.

Google can handle flash pages fairly well during their indexing process. Their web bots are advanced enough to follow links properly when visiting your site to gather indexing information. Yahoo and AltaVista are not quite as efficient with reading trough flash pages, however, it is only a matter of time until their search technology is on par with the rest.

In any event, flash pages can have a great visual impact on the casual browser and may conceivably increase your hit count on the Intro Page. It is important, however to also offer the browser content that is worthwile to look at. This will certainly increase your browser visits to all other pages in your website, which will hopefully turn a casual browser into a potential patient.
